ESCC partner with Batting for Change

07-Jan-2020 The Eastern Suburbs Cricket Club is delighted to be supporting Batting for Change for the 2019/20 season.

Batting for Change was founded by former NSW batsman Ryan Carters in 2013. Every summer, they raise funds in partnership with The LBW Trust, to level the global playing field in education. Batting for Change is based upon by the belief that Australians can come together to create transformative educational opportunities for disadvantaged young men and women in cricket-playing nations.

Since 2013, Batting for Change have been able to raise more than $1M to support tertiary and vocational education in countries such as India, Sri Lanka and Nepal, where they love their cricket but don’t always have equal opportunities in life.

On average, it can cost Batting for Change as little as $250 per student per year to support these opportunities in education, enabling deserving students from disadvantaged backgrounds the change to pursue higher education, transforming their lives and their communities.

Following confirmation of Eastern Suburbs Cricket Club’s support of Batting for Change, the charity’s founder, Ryan Carters, expressed his delight to be aligned with the Dolphins once again.

“We are humbled by the generosity of the Australian cricketing community in supporting our vision, and incredibly grateful to Eastern Suburbs Cricket Club for their continued support.

“Since our initial partnership with Easts' Juniors in 2016, we are have been proud to work with a club committed to promoting strength through community, encouraging cricket players of all levels to think locally as well as globally.

“Easts has always had a strong reputation for producing leaders on and off the field, and by working with Batting for Change, we are encouraging players young and old to see beyond the boundary to a more equal and better world.”
