REPRESENTATIVE CRICKET PROGRAM 2020/21SEJCA and CNSW have been working closely to create a new representative program for 2020/2021 that is designed to enhance the experience for junior players and continue to develop high quality cricketers in the district. The program is split into two sections:
This is the first level of representative cricket and the talent in this age group has yet to be identified. It is applicable to those players who are 11 as at 31/8/20 (i.e those playing in U11 this season and those "playing up" in U12's). We will be holding open trials for this age group, likely to be closer to the commencement of the 2020 / 2021 season around early August. We will send out a communication via the News Splash closer to the time and will post information on the Easts website.
2. U13 to U15
The process here is that up to 23 eligible players per age group (from all clubs in the district) will participate in SEJCA Representative Academy training sessions in late March / early April under the supervision of a range of coaches. At the conclusion of the academy sessions, 15-player squads will be selected for pre-season training. Prior to the commencement of trial games for the NSW Metropolitan Youth Championships ("MYC"), a final Playing Squad of 12 players from each age group will be selected.
Players are selected for the Academy via two methods:
1. Incumbent Representative players
2. Nominations of talented non-representative players from club Coaches
The Easts nomination process has now been completed, with the pool of nominees reviewed by the Easts Juniors committee and a final short-list submitted to Cricket NSW. Easts are fortunate to have many talented players, and our selection process has ensured that those selected are deserving of their nomination. The final academy participants will be decided after a final review from Cricket NSW within the next week and notified directly.
JUNIOR AWARDS PRESENTATIONSThe Eastern Suburbs Cricket Club Juniors award presentations have been confirmed.
The presentations have been split into two categories: Master Blaster (Friday & Saturday), and U10-U17.

We will have weekly sessions for different age groups, but each week must be separately booked via Try Booking. Please keep an eye out for the POD newsletter where we will advertise sessions.

Easts kicked off this seasons junior training program (for U10's and above) with a wicket-keeping master class run by former Australian wicket-keeper (and current NSW captain and Dolphins player) Peter Nevill.
