President's Message

Announcement regarding change in Managing Committee

One of the great things about our club is that it opens up opportunities for its members and players on and off the field. Max Abbott has worked tirelessly for the club for a number of years, including the last 3 as our Vice President. His success and achievements as Vice President have seen him offered a new role with the Hong Kong Cricket Association commencing in January in Hong Kong. We will be sad to see him go but wish him all the best with this exciting opportunity - and we're sure he'll be keeping a close eye on things from afar.

The committee resolved for Peter Lovitt to step in as interim Vice President to replace Max until the next Annual General Meeting. Peter is a life member and former President of the club, having been involved as a player or administrator for over 25 years. We will also be bringing on board a couple of new committee members which will be announced in the coming weeks.

With the club now swelling to close to 1,000 junior and senior members, the committee has also resolved that we are now of a size that justifies and in fact demands a full time administrator that is paid to ensure we are providing the highest level of service to members to make it the best cricket club in Australia. Over the next couple of months we will be conducting an application and interview process with a view to finding the best possible person for the role.

Finally we'd like to wish all of the extended Dolphin family a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
